Whatever. I wanted to give you information about the AutoLISP program for drawing a cabinet. You have seen:
1. Modules
2. Fast AutoCAD
3. Easy AutoCAD
That was very clear. It is easy to create an CAD drawing using an AutoLISP program. You save a lot of time and money.
Modules
You find modules in the AutoLISP program. In the AutoLISP program the following modules were found:
CLSCR - Clearing the screen
DRCAB - Drawing the cabinet
DRTOP - Drawing the top of the cabinet
DRDRW - Drawing the drawers
DRHND - Drawing the handles
SETDM - Setting the dimension variables
DRDIM - Drawing the dimensions
I prefer to work with modules in an AutoLISP program. Modules make the programming of the AutoLISP program much easier.
Modules have another significant advantage. If you want to change the program, you only have to change a module.
How the modules function. That has been explained in the 13 posts. I'm not going to explain that there again.
Fast AutoCAD
You have seen how fast AutoCAD is when an AutoLISP program is used. You could have copied this AutoLISP program.
You could have loaded the AutoLISP program into your AutoCAD and you could have worked with it. Creating the cabinet took only seconds.
That is the advantage of AutoLISP programs. They sure speed up AutoCAD. Getting your drawings takes only seconds.
To see how fast the AutoLISP program is. I have a suggestion for you. Draw a cabinet using the AutoLISP program.
When you are done. Create the same drawing by hand. Could you do it as fast? How long did it take? Two hours or longer?
With the AutoLISP program a complete AutoCAD drawing was created. But you can also create parts of your AutoCAD drawing.
I have a program that draws a border around an AutoCAD drawing. You can select the size of the drawing. The scale is calculated.
Easy AutoCAD
That is how it is. You need AutoCAD draftsmen for working with AutoCAD. That is what you have seen with this AutoLISP program.
Anybody can work with the AutoLISP program. Even people that are not AutoCAD draftsmen. But I'm not saying to get rid of your AutoCAD draftsmen.
It is like this. If you work with AutoLISP programs, then your AutoCAD draftsmen have more time for doing their job.
You could even consider to engage people that are not AutoCAD draftsmen and make them work on the drafting department.

Warning Don't spend a lot of money on AutoCAD Light. It is only for creating 2D drawings and it doesn't support AutoLISP. There is a very similar CAD program. And that is completely free. The name of the program? DraftSight. How to get it? Do a search on Google for “download DraftSight”. And you will find where you can download the program. |

Create Drawings When your CAD operators don't create the borders of your drawings, a lot of time is saved. You get your drawings much faster. I have created a program that does exactly that.
